Who We Are

We are an inclusive group of primarily sport touring riders who enjoy riding for the day, or for days at time to enjoy the road, the sights, the people and the conversations at a well-placed waypoint. We are enthusiasts and passionate about the entire motorcycling experience. Many of the members have been friends for a few or many years, and we welcome new people at every meeting and scheduled event. Members have sport touring, touring, sport, cruiser and dual sport motorcycles plus a handful of Can-Ams, and trikes. Many folks in the group have multiple bikes. We have multiple riding instructor members and opportunities for informal mentoring to improve your skills. We meet at our monthly meetings for dinner and to socialize, hear a speaker, and plan club events that will be a more memorable experience than ad hoc informal rides. Monthly meetings or events have included trips to motorcycle related manufacturers and collections of motorcycles. A favorite event is a full moon ride in the summer. We schedule 10-12 club rides over the year via our Meetup Site – http://www.meetup.com/redhotriders/. Club members schedule other weekly rides via our Meetup Site as well as one-time special events.

We do not push the envelope on speed, stunts, or generally bad riding etiquette that is disruptive to other traffic on the road and we do emphasize safe group riding skills for the enjoyment of all.

Thinkers’ Quote

What it is like to ride a motorcycle?

Robert M. Pirsig the author of “Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance” said it best:
“You see things vacationing on a motorcycle in a way that is completely different from any other. .... On a cycle the frame is gone. You’re completely in contact with it all. You’re in the scene, not watching it anymore, and the sense or presence is overwhelming. The concrete whizzing by five inches below your foot is the real thing, the same stuff you walk on, it’s right there, so blurred you can’t focus on it, yet you can put your foot down and touch it anytime, and the whole thing, the whole experience, is never removed from immediate consciousness.”
