• Change to By-Laws needed:
  • Motion to amend By-Laws to add a 5th member approved - no one opposed
  • Motion to change annual officer elections from December to January approved - no one opposed
  • Other By-Law changes to be decided upon by Executive Board
  • A majority of the 2007 members were present

• Web site promotion and on-line Forum - the Pit. Check it out!
• Guest Speaker: Andrew Trevet Senior Editor of Sport Rider Magazine.
• He's been riding for 23 years
• A Jason Pridmore instructor for over 2 years
• He holds a EE degree from Canada as well as raced in Canada
• He rode/wrote for Cycle Canada
• He attended one of Jason's Star Schools at Pahrump, LV and was hooked on it
• Said motorcycle sport is growing:
  • Riders and new bikes
  • Scooters are a growing segment
  • Sport bikes also, due to
    • Increase in track days
    • Increase in motorcycle schools
  • Urban street bikers / stunters increasing
    • Hangin out at Bike Nights
    • Stunts on the street & highways
    • A fad that's growing
    • Posers
• Threats to Sport Bikes/Riders
  • Government intervention to crack down on Urbanites
  • New bikers not at clubs or schools or track days - positive models
  • They are hanging out, posing, noisy bikes, going for looks only
  • Insurance companies are putting out black lists - not insuring certain types of bikes
  • Canada has been trying to raise registration fees based on bike type
• Bikes are becoming more "Global" - meeting same standards
• Sport Rider is trying to help the problem
  • Less street oriented pictures
  • More instructional segments
  • More track pictures
• Moto GP technology in going into more production bikes, very quickly
• Read from a cool book: "Hitching ride with Budah", by William Ferguson
• Chinese and Korean motorcycles have been coming out.
  • It will be tough for them to get a foothold in the market.

  • Officer elections for the next fiscal year were held tonight. We Need Officers to run the club! Your participation is Key to keeping the club alive! Volunteer for an open position now!! The club started in 1994 with 12 members and was above 200! To keep it alive, new ideas and energy are needed.
